Back to the YMCA tonight, so that the boys would be playing basketball rather than video games.
Once again, I became very angry. I think it's simply frustration with being stupid. I don't know how to use the exercise equipment. I got on an elliptical, and was able to turn on the TV attached to it, but not the exercise portion of it. I still don't know if it was broken, or if it was my exercise illiteracy.
The only thing I got out of the few minutes spent in the weight-lifting area was re-injuring my knee by trying to use a device where you extend you legs and lift 80 lbs using your quads. A warm-up might have helped, but I had no idea where or what to do to warmup.
I freaking hated every minute of it.
Doesn't help that having strangers gawk at me triggers other insecurities.
Stupid freaking self-esteem issues.
you just start moving on the eliptical....that or ask someone for help!!
ReplyDeleteAsk for help occurred to me, and was quickly rejected for the obvious reason - it would involve asking *someone*.
ReplyDeleteI moved slightly, but the lights didn't light up on the board, so I assumed I still needed to find a power button (other than the TV power button) somewhere...
You have to move more than a little on them for it to light up...at least the ones at my gym are that way.
ReplyDeleteI almost went this afternoon to try again, but I've run out of time... have to be available for remote software testing at 2:30, haircut at 4 for me and my'eldest, then go to the doctor to see if I have an infection or colon cancer, then a coaches' meeting tonight....
