Earworm

Yes, that's the official pseudo-psychological term for it apparently.

For several days now I have had Fall Out Boy's new single, "Take Over, the Break's Over", running through my head while I'm trying to sleep. As I try to fall asleep, as I try to stay asleep, as I try to go back to sleep, as I wearily give up on sleep in the morning.

It got bad enough that I googled for help, and found Kellaris' "research" and media-quotable quips. It strikes me as someones 15 minutes of fame combined with the psychological equivalent of wearing copper bracelets to cure cancer more than actual medical knowledge.

Nonetheless it seems to be the only information I can find about it, so we'll use what we can.

Neurotic people and musicians are more susceptible to it. Gee, who does that sound like?

I unearthed one good lyrically equivalent for the word mindf*ck in the process, though...
They say your head can be a prison.
Then these are just conjugal visits.

So. We are playing it over and over to get it out.

Wish me luck.
