Really, what it comes down to is laziness. I feel that it's so much work to find anybody that I'll hang on too long or settle for awhile just because I don't want to put in the effort.
Makes perfect sense. Then there is the settling, the compromise, and the effort you are putting into a relationship you are not really into anyway. So you go bang a stripper instead.

Three times bedding the 45 year old cocktail waitress from the go go bar that I had meet last year.
Four or five times with the geek.
Once with a disco hooker who was quite attractive and endlessly talkative. My effort consisted of going to the disco and returning her smile.
