The Filipina and I had a great weekend, following through on the bad idea of getting together for a road trip. Saturday was spent hanging out in bed, and Sunday was spent driving a couple of hours to see William Shatner, Tricia Helfer and Giancarlo Esposito as well as a few hundred cosplay enthusiasts. We had great food, and a great time.
Yes, it was a bad idea. But happiness in the short term was the result.
Meanwhile, back at home, I continue to plan my two month trip overseas. I will be working remotely for the first month so that I have the funds I need, but I want to take short trips to a number of countries that I haven't yet visited. In Thailand, I will be meeting up with the two most significant women from my last trip, the Nurse and the Foodie. With the Nurse, a weekend in Bali will be a getaway. With the Foodie, the getaway will be within Thailand, to a different province.
I still have no goals for the long term, and I admit I have the feeling that this trip is a bit of a stopgap, a stalling measure, and on the other side of it I might have regrets... but then again, I have no goals for the long term. How can I say I'm going in the wrong direction when I don't have a clue where I'm supposed to be heading?
Life could be worse.
