Seriously

:-)

This was my weekend off, in a manner of speaking. Other than the 24th through 26th, when their mother has time off of work, the boys will be spending the majority of time with me. In fact, it will likely only be through my efforts that they'll see her at all this month. Just a hunch based on the past week.

Even with this weekend being the "be with mom" event of the month, I still had them at my place Saturday from 4:30-9pm ("we have homework, Dad, and we have to do it at your place")... curiously all I saw them doing was watching TV before I left and when I got back ("we'll do it right after this show"..."we're done everything we can do").

Today I went shopping for craft materials for my youngest, took my eldest to his soccer practice ("can I just stay at your house tonight?") and fixed the PVR at their mother's place. There is a gathering storm in the number of times I hear them say that there is nothing to do over there, and all the fun stuff is at my house. If there becomes the impression that the two households aren't equally attractive to the kids, I know I'll pay for it one way or another...

Mind you I suspect everything is going to shit over there anyways. As bad as I am, I've always been the one better at managing money. Of course, she's always been the one better at managing to have a social life, despite the drawbacks I believe she has. Hey, I have to be fair.

Topic change...

I've been eating too much lately, and not exercising enough. Plus there's the continuing tension headaches. But I feel I've bitched enough about that. I don't know why I'm in this mess this year, but I'm just sick of complaining.

Topic change...

There might be a segue in here somewhere, but I think I've partially lost my sense of humour.

Or maybe I just don't find some things funny.

Like Borat. I started watching it tonight... and wandered off after perhaps 20 minutes and one laugh.

I thought this was the funniest movie every made.

Maybe I should get some tickets to Michael Richards' show next time he's in town.
