Relations

The musician finally got her house yesterday; she's been looking for about a year, and the local real estate market has been, in my opinion, senseless. Houses and condos are regularly selling well above asking price, a complete reversal of the period when I bought mine. She had given up hope, bought bedding plants for her rental, and naturally that's when it all came together.

Yesterday we had our semi-regular family brunch, with my sons, my mom and her husband, my grandparents, my aunt, uncle, and cousin, and another relative who my grandparents had driven here to take to the airport. There were long conversations with my cousin, intentionally, because I figure we never talk at these things, and my mother. I hadn't realized that her trip to Nevada was only two weeks away, so later in the day I finished cleaning up a laptop for her to take with her, and took that over to her.

Since I was monopolized at the table yesterday, my grandmother called today to chat with (grill?) me about my dating life... she is, of course, pleased that the musician works in the country genre, since my grandmother is well aware of my lifetime aversion to it, and she loves it.

Today's plan is to join the expected masses of loose fathers who are outdoors for Mother's Day. The journey will be a bike ride around the city to gather pictures for the other blog, a long overdue return to exercise. I've been avoiding running this week to give my sore ankles a chance to recover, not that they fully have because I haven't fully been leaving them alone.

Later, some work... a surprisingly asocial day on my own...
