Tonight I did something I've been wanted to do for awhile now.
I surprised the shit out of a random stranger by paying for their groceries.
A guy behind me in line was buying a Halloween costume for his nephew, and some odds and ends, and had left his wallet at home. I asked how much the costume was ($30), and threw forty bucks down in front of him.
"Here," I said.
"Thank you very much," he said.
"Merry Christmas. Or I guess it's Thanksgiving."
Probably would have worked better had I been in a cheerier mood, but I was in some pain tonight.
At least there's one more experience I've had.
