Sleepover

Friday night my youngest had a sleepover at his friend's house for said friend's birthday. We had a brief conversation in advance because his costume (near Halloween, you know) was partially a priest's outfit, and he wanted to know if Catholic priests had indeed molested young boys. Since truth is what I try to dispense, yes was the answer, of course, with context.

Later that night I had my 2nd soccer game of the season, and my own sleepover at the prof's. It's been an up and down week between the prof and I, due to several enjoyable joint activities on the one hand, and her feelings after reading here about my attempts at dating last weekend. A sleepover is something that she'd been asking for, something fairly foreign to me, but quite natural to her, and I suspect most people.

As expected, the sleepover itself wasn't bad, but just as my son's Saturday was spent passing out from sleep exhaustion, I didn't get enough rest in order to be fully functional this weekend. The multiple afternoon naps and evening yawning and lack of focus were clues to that.

I've always said that sleepovers really aren't about sleep anyway.

Which brings me to an interesting book I'm reading, but I've run out of time to explain -- more later.
