...and today's lesson was that you can't "take a phone off the hook" using a cordless phone. The battery dies and you still end up getting the unwanted early morning call.
I'm so easily fooled. I keep taking everything at face value. When my ex and I are "friends", I assume that everything is ok, but I've just been informed that I constantly make digs and she just couldn't take it anymore. Of course, the "official" reason I separated in the first place was that I didn't think there was any way to repair years of damaged communication, that everything would continue to be crap because even the more innocuous comments would be interpreted wrongly.
Well, now I feel better. Jeez, this blog thing is pretty good. Spilling your guts to complete strangers is cathartic. As long as I don't think about anyone I know reading it. :-)
Now to perform my morning ritual - going outside to get the newspaper in my boxers. Hey, it's legal. :-)
