In retrospect, I am being too kind by omitting some negative things about te psych major.
She had good reason for making the apologies she did about being too judgemental.
Perhaps I should have ignored the invitation to "display strong convictions". The best results come when you give someone time to acclimatize themselves to you before making even the remotest challenge of their world view. Certainly I didn't appreciate being labelled a fad-following kook just because we disagreed on what food should be on our plate. I should have just nodded and smiled.
Then again, maybe not. I did enjoy the challenge and wit involved, even if the fuse was lit and short.
I shouldn't have to babysit everyone's ego, even if it means a few bruises to my own.
