Self-Images

Today's Self-Portrait

Somehow I can simultaneously see myself as both too scrawny and fat.

This picture is from five minutes ago.

Since this is August, and not July, I'm back to my usual state of matelessness, so I've had absolutely no feedback on the sole trial of manscaping I've tried.  You can't see it in this picture, as I've photoshopped the towel slightly to the left to make image this legal in more countries.

I don't know.  Having a light patch there seems weird to me.  Maybe it's being used to the natural bushy look, or it's a lack of distinction between the legs and the patch, but it seems weird.

Then again, I also feel weird seeing this photo published.  I'm not as exhibitionist as I'd like to be.

Expect lots of posts this week as I try to bury this one in the archives.

  1. Wow, that's something I would NEVER do...posting an almost nude shot of my body. Then again, my face is all over my blog. Perhaps if it wasn't...

I think more people than not have self-image issues and I've learned it has a lot to do with focus. When I began feeling better about myself, it was because I quit focusing on what I perceived to be negative and focused on what I did like instead.

As for manscaping, the other women I've talked to about it, and I, prefer it opposed to cave-man style.

  2. This is definitely pushing my boundaries, and my face is actually somewhere on this blog. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't backfire one day. :)

I should think about what to focus on.

I can't quite make myself try complete removal. Does it seem weird if legs have hair, but there none in between? Or do manscaped guys shave their legs too?

  3. Focus: Yes, find one thing. Just one to start with is all it takes.

Manscaping: I've never been with or known one who removed all hair though I know they exist (maybe in New York). I personally think that would be weird; men are supposed to have hair. But what's most important is *your* preference. Try this semi-scaped version for a while and if you don't like it then quit.

In my opinion the maintenance is a pain in the arse. It also sucks doing laundry and dishes all the time, but if you like fresh-smelling clothes and a clean plate to eat off of it's just something ya gotta do... ;)
