For all its flaws, for all the way it has to go in terms of equality, America (and Canada) can still be proud that at least "racism" is considered a derogatory term rather than a national institution.
As I lay in bed reflecting my love life this past year, I recalled the Filipino woman that I had I texted and corresponded with for about a year, meeting for only one date along the way. On that date she told me of her years working in Taiwan, and how she and her co-workers were near slaves, expected to smile and be well behaved at all times, and were even escorted when they went to the mall to shop for themselves. There is racism in the world, and it comes in varying degrees.
The West isn't all bad in that regard.
