Maintenance Contract

She's "high-maintenance". I don't know that I've ever really fully thought out the meaning of those words, but I suspect I will be working that out as (note: "if" is optimistically not used) I continue to see her.

I've complained about a lack of feedback, but the lack of writing on the back of the card attached to the rose I gave her was visibly noted. The observation about me not saying I missed her while she was gone, untempered by my observation that she did not say that she missed me. The framing of my schedule as too busy when her's has been the one preventing us from getting together in the past week.

These are possible clues. Perhaps the hidden dragon awaits.

In this species, after mating, the unsuspecting male is eaten by the female to provide nourishment for the next generation within her. The female is too attractive to him. He cannot avoid his fate, and it is his biology that betrays him.
