Big Breakfasts

For several years now, the tradition has been for me to make an alternating breakfast in the morning: Eggs/bacon/toast/hashbrowns one day, pancakes the next, eggs, pancakes, eggs, pancakes, and once in awhile something different such as waffles or french toast. Since my eldest likes eggs and hates pancakes, and my youngest hates eggs and likes pancakes, this balanced things nutritionally, and kept the peace more or less.

With the separation, there have been some changes. My ex has started making the egg breakfasts at her house*, so I balance it out by mostly making pancake breakfasts. But Sunday remains the day when I make everything. Needless to say, there are leftovers. But no one's hungry for awhile. :-)

*Actually it makes me quite happy that she's doing this; makes me feel validated in my decision years ago to go with the non-sugar based start of the day, like I wasn't just being humoured.
