Work ethic
Someone said to me today, "I was beginning to wonder if you ever worked."
Oddly enough, it is my intensely strong work ethic that makes me happy to work as little as I do.
When I was working 9 to 5 (technically 8:30 to sometime in the evening), it bothered me to take breaks, to have to stop to chat, to do anything other than work. I didn't like that I was getting paid for doing "nothing".
Now, I only get paid for precisely the amount of time I work. It makes me much happier overall, and I feel ok (well, sometimes) when I'm not working.
Burgers
Ok, it's gluttonous, but.... There's something about having a burger that is too big for your mouth that I love.
Thinking (is never too much)
The benefit of thinking a lot is better-than-average predictive powers. One of my favorite things to think about is da people... da people dat (am I Jamaican suddenly?) be society, da people dat be around me. Sociology fascinates me. People fascinate me. Don't come near me if you're are not ready to be thought about! :-)
Predictive powers... I realize that was the starting thought, and I never explained further, but briefly (as I must be getting back to work here), if you think carefully about things, you can reliably foresee a lot of the future. No, not stocks and bonds, but in relationships and a little bit about society at large.
Busy People Have Too Much Time on Their Hands
Seriously. If you're on the Internet all day surfing, you're not really busy. Ok, that includes me. :-)
Back to work!
