One bite

When I was a kid (well, teenager even), I always left one bite of my meal.

I recently read an article on longevity (see previous blog entry on said topic!), and the Japanese village had a saying - eat only until you are 80% full. Now, my first thought was how unlikely it was that they would have used the term "80%" (lol). But, putting that quibble aside, how much healthier would most of us be if we were to just not pig out. Just stop eating when it's really enough. Ignore the constant "consume, consume" drumbeat and the guilt of wasting food.
