Well, I certainly overcompensated today for any lack of exercise earlier in the week!
The day started as the previous day finished. I read a bit of the Owner's Manual for the Brain, and watched an episode of Coupling (lmao). Then it swung into gear with soccer practice for my youngest's team, sans youngest. An excellent practice where I did my job (practice progressed from a simple starting point to a full pattern, all on the same topic), the kids participated well (with a two exceptions as always), and I got a workout (which was unavoidable due to having an odd number of kids). Followed it with a run in Wascana, a check online for a friend's poker game (still haven't played this online yet!), then shower and change for soccer pictures and then my eldest's soccer practice. I wasn't planning on participating in another practice, but again there was an odd number of players, and the assistant coach got worn out when there was about 15 minutes left. Which brings me to the next point.
Pain. Playing with the kids can be painful; they're getting big, and some of them play pretty hard. One tripped me into the curtains and bleachers where I twisted my ankle. Brought back my jaw pain at the same time. The kid laughed his ass off, spent the rest of the scrimmage trying to repeat it.
:-D
Why do I not mind pain as much as I used to? No regrets. Again. I guess the "you are who you want to be" philosophy continues to be a powerful force.
So Sunday. A day of overdoing it, but a d*mn good day nonetheless.
